Based in Dorset, SEAM DIFFERENT was inspired by our neurodivergent daughter and gives us the flexibility to meet her needs — to be there for appointments, the hard days and everything in between. What began as a creative outlet became a clear purpose: to blend advocacy, humour and meaningful design into embroidered and printed clothing that feels true to the person wearing it.

Every design blends comfort, quality and personality — a subtle stitched statement or a printed expression that challenges stereotypes with positivity and authenticity. We're building a community where neurodivergent individuals and their families can feel seen, understood and less alone.

A bit about me

MEET THE FOUNDER

I'm Kirsty — a SEN parent and the founder of this new business. I built Seam Different so I could support my family while doing work I genuinely love.

For more than twelve years I have worked in the mental health sector, supporting people through some of their most difficult moments — work I care about deeply. At home, my days are filled with appointments, advocacy and paperwork, alongside the everyday task of helping my child get the right support.

Seam Different grew from wanting a better balance: a business shaped around our family's needs rather than one that asks us to work around them. It is more than embroidery and print — it is built on resilience, determination, and the hope that other families might see a little of themselves in it.
