Turnaround, pricing, garments and delivery — the things people ask us most before they order.
- How long does an order take?
- Custom pieces are usually stitched or printed and posted within 7–10 working days of your design being approved. Larger workwear orders take a little longer — we'll always confirm a timescale before you commit.
- What garments can I choose from?
- Sweatshirts, t-shirts, hoodies, polos, fleeces, aprons and tote bags. If you have a particular brand, colour or fit in mind, ask and we'll source it where we can.
- How much does it cost?
- Pricing depends on the garment, the size of the design, the number of stitches or print coverage. Simple lettering starts lower than detailed logos. Send us your idea and we'll quote before any work begins — no obligation.
- Is it hand embroidery?
- No — it's machine embroidery. Every piece is digitised and then stitched one at a time on our single-needle Brother VR here in Dorset, so each garment is set up, hooped and finished by us personally.
- Do you print as well as embroider?
- Yes — we offer both. Most of our own clothing is machine embroidered, and we can also print text, illustrations or logos when a design works better in ink than in thread. We'll tell you honestly which suits your idea.
- How do I know whether my design should be embroidered or printed?
- As a rule, embroidery suits lettering, initials, logos and simple line designs — it adds texture and feels beautifully premium. Print suits fine detail, photographic artwork, gradients and lots of colours, and it sits softer on lightweight t-shirts. Send us your artwork and we'll recommend the best of the two before you commit.
- How is the printing done?
- We use DTF (direct-to-film) printing — designs are professionally printed onto film, then heat-pressed onto the garment here in our studio. It gives crisp edges, bright colour and a soft, flexible finish that stretches with the fabric rather than cracking like older transfers.
- Will the embroidery or print last through washing?
- Yes. Embroidery is stitched with quality polyester thread and secured on the reverse, and our prints are heat-set to bond into the fabric. Wash inside out at 30°C, avoid the tumble dryer and don't iron directly over the design, and both will stay looking good for years.
- What artwork do you need from me?
- The clearest file you have — ideally a PNG with a transparent background, a PDF or a vector (AI, EPS, SVG). A photo or screenshot is fine to start a conversation and we'll tell you if it needs redrawing. For embroidery, your design also needs to be converted into a stitch file (digitising), which we have done by a trusted professional digitiser before stitching it here in Dorset.
- Can you match my brand colours?
- We get as close as we can. Thread comes in fixed shades so we choose the nearest match to your brand colour, while print gives us far more accuracy. Send us your colour references or brand guidelines and we'll show you the match in your proof.
- How is it posted, and how much is delivery?
- Orders are pressed, packed and sent by tracked Royal Mail within the UK. Delivery is quoted with your order so there are no surprises at the end.
- Do you have a minimum order for businesses?
- No daunting minimums. We work with one-person businesses as happily as small teams, and we keep your setup on file so future orders match the originals exactly.
- Can I mix embroidered and printed items in one order?
- Absolutely. Plenty of businesses have an embroidered logo on polos and fleeces with a bolder printed design on t-shirts. We'll quote it all together as one order.
- What if something isn't right?
- Get in touch and we'll put it right. Because everything is made to order we can't accept returns on personalised items, but a mistake on our side is ours to fix.
