Privacy Policy
We're a small family business and we keep this simple: we only collect what we need to answer you and post your order.
Who we are
SEAM DIFFERENT is a family-run embroidery and print studio based in Dorset, United Kingdom. For any privacy question, email info@seamdifferent.co.uk.
What we collect
- Enquiries: your name, email address and the details of your message, so we can reply and quote.
- Orders: your name, delivery address, email address and order details. Card payments are handled by our checkout provider — we never see or store your card number.
- Website use: basic technical information such as pages visited, used to keep the site working and improve it.
Why we use it
To answer enquiries, prepare quotes, make and post your order, deal with returns, and keep records required for UK tax and accounting. We do not sell or rent your information to anyone.
Who we share it with
Only the services needed to run the shop: our website and database hosting, our email delivery provider, our ecommerce and payment provider, and Royal Mail or another carrier for delivery. Each only receives what they need for that task.
How long we keep it
Enquiries are kept for up to two years. Order records are kept for six years, as required for UK tax purposes. You can ask us to delete anything we're not legally required to keep.
Consent
When you send an enquiry you tick a box confirming you're happy for us to store your details and use them to reply. We record the date and time of that consent alongside your enquiry, and you can withdraw it at any time by emailing us.
Marketing
We'll only email you about new collections if you've asked us to. Every such email has an unsubscribe link, and asking us to stop by reply is just as valid.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Email us and we'll respond within one month. If you're unhappy with our response you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Cookies
We use only the cookies and local storage needed for the site and your shopping basket to function. We do not run advertising trackers or third-party profiling cookies.
