Gift Ideas For The ADHD People In Your Life
ADHD gifting has one rule above the rest: don't give someone a new job. The best presents remove a step, make a chore pleasant, or say something true and funny out loud.
1. Spares of the things that go missing
Chargers and cables for every room. A second pair of reading glasses. Another water bottle. Three of the same phone case. It sounds unromantic; it is used constantly and remembered fondly.
2. Gifts that shorten a task
- A robot vacuum, or a cleaner for a one-off deep clean.
- Pre-chopped-ingredient meal boxes or a decent food delivery voucher.
- A visual timer for time-blindness — something you glance at, not something you set up.
- A label maker (genuinely joyful, genuinely useful).
3. Clothes that need no decisions
A comfortable, well-finished sweatshirt in a colour that goes with everything removes a daily decision. Look for soft labels, flat seams and embroidery or print with a soft reverse.
Our Unmasked & Unfiltered collection exists for exactly this: neurohumour written by people who live it, on garments comfortable enough to be the default choice. You'll find it in SEAM DIFFERENT ORIGINALS.
4. Fidget-friendly and sensory
Weighted lap pads for desk work, textured rings and clicky pens that don't annoy a room, good headphones for focus, a chewable necklace if that's their thing. Buy quality over quantity — cheap fidget multipacks tend to be abandoned within a week.
5. Consumables and vouchers
Nice coffee, a favourite snack in bulk, cinema or climbing credit, a bookshop voucher. Nothing to store, nothing to feel guilty about.
What to skip
- Elaborate planners and productivity systems. Unless they've asked by name, this is homework with a bow on it.
- Anything requiring assembly or a long setup.
- Jokes at their expense. "Sorry I'm late" mugs from someone who isn't ADHD land very differently to the same words from someone who is.
- Delicate or high-maintenance items. Dry-clean-only, hand-water-daily, feed-twice-a-day.
Want it personalised?
Their own phrase, an in-joke or a date stitched or printed onto something soft is usually the version they keep. That's what SEAM DIFFERENT CUSTOM is for — send us the words and we'll mock it up before anything is made.
